Award season successes!
Golden Pineapple Awards
Early Links has been awarded the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Employer of Choice and Leadership Awards at the 2022 Hunter Diversity and Inclusion Collective (HDIC) Golden Pineapple Awards, held at Watt St, Newcastle. It was an absolute privilege to be recognised for our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion amongst many amazing individuals and organisations.
DEI Employer of Choice
Early Links CEO Sue and Board Members Mark Cross and Paul Johns accepted the Employer of Choice Award from Catherine Cahill on behalf of Hume Housing, who were last year’s winners. Ms Cahill said, “we [Hume Housing] proudly display our pineapple in our trophy cabinet.”
We were amongst some true advocates of diversity, equity and inclusion with finalists, the University of Newcastle and Hunter Water.
“This organisation goes above and beyond for their employees, particularly during the Pandemic. They found many ways to innovate to deliver services, making a difference within our community.” – Mark Cross, Board Member.
DEI Outstanding Leadership
Our very own CEO, Sue, was also recognised for her outstanding leadership, being awarded a golden pineapple for her diversity, equity and inclusion achievements. Last year’s recipient, Maree Jenner, spoke of her fight to be the first person of short stature to become a registered nurse in NSW.
“We are humbled to be honoured for our work as advocates for inclusion in our communities.” – Sue French, Early Links CEO.
Keith, the guide dog, was also very impressed with our golden pineapples that he even chose to have a cute snap with them!

Thank you to Bill Armstrong, HDIC Co-Founder and the whole HDIC Committee, for being a voice and celebrating the many champions of diversity, equity and inclusion right here in the Hunter.
Hunter Business Awards
Continuing our successful streak, we were named finalists in both the Employer of Choice and Outstanding Community Enterprise categories at the prestigious 2022 Hunter Business Awards. The awards were held at NEX, Newcastle, across an astounding 17 categories in front of a sold out crowd.
Employer of Choice and Outstanding Community Enterprise Categories
We may not have taken home the ‘win’, but we were humbled to share the spotlight with many fantastic businesses contributing to our wonderful region. It has been a challenging couple of years, and we were amazed by the high calibre of businesses the Hunter has to offer. Thank you, Business Hunter, for recognising our achievements over the past 12 months, putting on a great night, and a massive congratulations to all this year’s finalists and winners.
Thank you to our incredible team
Thank you to our entire Early Links team, who go above and beyond every day to ensure our clients and community are supported. Without your hard work and dedication, we would not be where we are today.
