Do you know our amazing Annette?

Annette Clinical Services Training Coordinator

Recently, I caught up with Annette, one of our longest-serving employees of 13 years and asked her about her time at Early Links and her exciting new role as clinical services training coordinator – a position that gives her the ability to educate and support the professional growth of our team, something she has always found very rewarding.

How did it all begin?

I have a background in occupational therapy (OT) and feel I was so lucky to have found this profession! I’ve been working as an occupational therapist with young children for a long time, and I’ve learned so much from them and their families and the fantastic colleagues I’ve had along the way.

What made you decide to join Early Links?

I had been working at other similar services, but when moving to the Hunter Valley area, I was delighted to find Early Links was looking for an occupational therapist in 2009. My youngest child was in kindergarten then, and now he has finished school!

How has your career progressed since being with us?

One of the things I have liked about the NDIS is that people can access more services than ever before. To meet the community’s needs, Early Links has grown to cater to that demand. When I started, I was the only occupational therapist, and now we have over 20 occupational therapists. This has also meant that we have needed to support those on the team, so I have held Team Leader and Senior occupational therapist roles over the years.

What do you like about working at Early Links?

Lots of things! I love the team culture and collaboration. My colleagues are dedicated to the people they support, innovation in service delivery, and creating a supportive workplace. I am excited to jump into this new role as clinical services training coordinator as it meets my interest in supporting the growth of my team. I am looking forward to contributing to Early Links in this unique way.

What drives your passion for continuing to do what you do?

My passion over the last few years has been supporting my teammates’ professional growth. I find educating others so rewarding. I want to share what I have learned over the years and research what is best practice so we are providing the best service we can for everyone we support.
