The Early Links Youth Hub
Early Links runs a number of youth groups at our offices and in the community. We have always wanted a dedicated venue for these groups so that our young people have their own space where they feel at home.
I am excited to say that this can now be realised with construction underway on the brand-new Early Links Youth Hub at our Kurri Kurri office. We will hold a trivia night fundraiser in November to raise funds to furnish the hub.
Our Youth Group Team
Our amazing Youth Group Team runs a range of programs for clients aged 8 to 25. As well as offering fun activities, the programs also help young people to enjoy new experiences, grow in confidence and develop valuable skills.
The Youth Group Team are awesome role models for our young people and form incredible bonds with them, often becoming a mentor to them.
There have been some fantastic outcomes from youth groups, such as developing teamwork, problem-solving, decision making and conflict-resolution skills. Lasting friendships have resulted, and employment opportunities have been secured.
Early Links Youth Hub
Our youth group team have faced the challenge of running youth groups in settings that are often shared and only partially suited. At times, it has been difficult for them to find a suitable location to hold large youth groups, and there is also demand for us to run more groups.
We have always known that having a dedicated space for our youth groups will hugely benefit our young people, and the Early Links Youth Hub will provide just that.

The Early Links Youth Hub is now under construction
Our vision for the hub is an area specifically designed for our youth groups featuring activity zones, games rooms and sensory spaces. We want our young people to feel the hub is theirs and feel comfortable enough there to be themselves. The hub will be decorated to support this sense of ownership and to celebrate our young people’s achievements with items such as their artworks on display.
The Perfect Hub
We asked our young people to tell us what their perfect youth hub should include Their wishlist includes items such as a ping pong table, music speakers, a basketball hoop and, of course, Xbox and PlayStation. Our team is still working to source these items as well as furnishings and equipment for the hub, and to make it possible; we will be holding a special event in November.
Early Links 2023 Trivia Night
We will be holding a trivia night fundraiser to raise funds for furniture, equipment and entertainment items for the Early Links Youth Hub.
The Early Links 2023 Trivia Night will be at East Maitland Bowling Club on Friday 10 November 2023. As well as trivia, there will be raffles and a silent auction. Many local businesses have already generously donated prizes. Everyone is welcome to come along and join the fun to help raise funds for a fantastic cause. We hope to see you there on the night.
